AI search visibility · GEO audit
AI search visibility: does ChatGPT name your site?
The free Autoriax audit asks four AI engines the question a buyer would ask about your topic, then scores your homepage on what decides whether those engines can read and quote it. You get the gaps and a fix prompt for your coding agent.

The question we ask
One buyer question, sent to four engines at once
The audit reads your homepage to infer the topic phrase you compete on, then sends the same question to each engine. The English audit asks in English, the German audit in German.
Prompt (English template)
What are the best {topic} solutions and tools?
German: „Was sind die besten {topic} Lösungen und Tools?“
- Cited
The engine linked your domain as a source.
- Mentioned
The engine named you, but without a link.
- Not found
The answer did not surface your domain for this query.
- No data
The engine did not answer within 8 seconds. The report runs without it.
The score
Seven categories, weighted by how much they matter to AI engines
The 0–100 score adds up the categories below. A category the audit could not measure, for example when PageSpeed Insights is unavailable, does not count against you.
| Category | Weight | What it checks |
|---|---|---|
| AI crawlability | 26.1 | GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended allowed in robots.txt; content present in the HTML, not only after JavaScript; canonical, noindex, HTTPS, HSTS, mixed content. |
| Content structure | 23.4 | Title and meta description, one H1, heading hierarchy, an answer-first opening, paragraph length, lists and tables, concrete data points, outbound citations, readability. |
| E-E-A-T and authority | 19.7 | About page, privacy/terms/contact links, signs of original research, consistent brand naming. |
| Structured data | 12.3 | JSON-LD present, Article, Organization and Person markup, Open Graph image. |
| Core Web Vitals | 8.0 | LCP, CLS and INP from PageSpeed Insights, real-user data where Google has it. |
| Off-site citations | 7.7 | Presence on review marketplaces and GitHub, sameAs links that tie your brand to its profiles, outbound link distribution. |
| Measurement and governance | 2.8 | A last-updated signal in your sitemap. |
Weights from methodology version 12 of the audit. The four engine answers are reported next to the score, not inside it.
The output
A fix prompt for your coding agent
Every failed rule comes with what was found and how to fix it. The report bundles them, critical issues first, into a prompt you can paste into Cursor, Claude Code or a ticket for your developer. This is how the prompt opens:
I'm fixing AI-SEO findings on my site {url}.
Here are the {count} issue(s) my audit flagged, ordered by severity.
Each line carries:
- "What we found": the specific gap detected by the rule.
- "Fix": the surgical action to take.
Please address them in order. After each fix, verify the change
actually passes the rule before moving on. If something requires
CMS/template changes you can't make locally, leave a TODO and skip
it — don't fake a fix. Inside Autoriax
GEO checks on every article you publish
Before publishing: GEO score
Articles written by the Autoriax pipeline get a 0–100 GEO score from eight structural signals:
- Schema markup
- Sourced statistics
- Evidence coverage
- Answer-first sections
- Statistic density
- Self-contained sections
- Internal links
- Citation formatting
After publishing: visibility tracking
For each published article, Autoriax asks Perplexity once a month from day 30 to day 270. ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini join on days 90, 180 and 270. The results dashboard on Growth and above shows which engines cited or mentioned you.

Frequently asked
What is AI search visibility?
It describes whether AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity name or link your site when someone asks about your topic. A page can rank on Google and still be missing from those answers, and the reverse happens too.
What does a generative engine optimization (GEO) tool do?
It checks the things that decide whether an AI engine can read, trust and quote a page: crawler access, structure, structured data, authority signals. Then it tests whether the engines actually mention you. Autoriax does both in the free audit and scores each article it writes before publishing.
Why are the AI answers not part of the 0–100 score?
The score grades only what is on your page and in your robots.txt and sitemap. The four engine answers are shown next to it, so a single answer to a single question does not swing the number.
Do you check the ChatGPT or Gemini apps themselves?
No. We ask each engine through its API with web search switched on. Answers in the consumer apps can differ, for example because of personalisation or a different model. Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot are not checked today.
Does the audit crawl my whole site?
No, it scores the homepage. It also reads robots.txt and your sitemap for crawler permissions and freshness. For a page-by-page view, run the audit on the URL you care about.
Is there a German version?
Yes. The same audit runs in German at autoriax.com/de/audit/.
